Sienna Miller, Giancarlo Giannini Join ‘The Catcher Was A Spy’

Feb 25th, 2017       Posted by: admin       Filed in: News       Comments: 0

Sienna Miller and Giancarlo Giannini have joined The Catcher Was A Spy, the Ben Lewin-directed drama that stars Paul Rudd, Guy Pearce, Paul Giamatti and Jeff Daniels. Robert Rodat adapted the script from Nicholas Dawidoff’s bestselling book that tells the true story of Moe Berg, a major league ballplayer who was an important spy against the Nazis in WWII.

While they call catcher’s equipment “the tools of ignorance,” Berg was the extreme exception, an Ivy League graduate with a law degree who spoke nine languages. A so-so catcher who was mostly a utility player, Berg’s place in history isn’t etched on a baseball card but rather in his spying efforts for the OSS that helped America win the race against Germany to build the atomic bomb. The film is centered around Berg’s most important mission during the war – infiltrating the circle of Werner Heisenberg, the enigmatic lead scientist for the Nazi atomic program. Berg is managed in these clandestine endeavors by The Father of Central Intelligence, O.S.S. Chief “Wild Bill” Donovan (Daniels), and he was assisted by a military specialist, Furman (Pearce) and a renowned physicist, Goudsmit (Giamatti). While the movie would lead the league in irony if the Heisenberg role went to Bryan Cranston, they are expected to set a European actor for the part.

Miller plays Estella Huni, Berg’s love interest. Her recent turns have included American Sniper, The Lost City of Z and Live By Night. Giannini plays Italian physicist Professor Eduardo Amaldi. Miller is represented by CAA and United Agents and Giannini is represented by Studio Squillante.

PalmStar Media, coming off Split and John Wick: Chapter 2, is producing with Animus Films. PalmStar Media is financing the film with Windy Hill Pictures, whose recent films include Hacksaw Ridge, Collateral Beauty and Sing Street). UTA Independent Film Group is packaging and co-representing the film with PalmStar.

Sienna Miller & Jack O’Connell Head To ‘Cat On A Hot Tin Roof’ In London’s West End

Sienna Miller and Jack O’Connell are set to star in Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in London’s West End. The Young Vic production will be staged by Benedict Matthews, who previously directed his own version of Three Sisters as well as A Streetcar Named Desire with Gillian Anderson and Ben Foster, which transferred to New York last year.

It’s been six years since Miller has performed on the London stage with Flare Path. She’ll play Maggie, the wife of all-American former pro football player Brick Pollitt (played by O’Connell). On a steamy night in Mississippi, the Southern family gather at their cotton plantation to celebrate Brick’s father’s birthday while Brick and Maggie dance round the secrets and sexual tensions that threaten to destroy their marriage.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof previews in London’s Apollo Theater on July 13, 2017, before it kicks off for a 12-week run from July 24. The production marks The Young Vic’s first production to debut directly in the West End and is presented by The Young Vic and The Young Ones. Previously, the theater has transferred A View from a Bridge, Golem, The Scottsboro Boys, Simply Heavenly, Tintin and A Doll’s House.

Miller, who’s starred in pics such as American Sniper and Foxcatcher, is next up in James Gray’s The Lost City of Z, with Charlie Hunnam, Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson. Her New York theater credits include After Miss Julie, Cabaret, Independence and Cigarettes and Chocolate.

O’Connell has stared in titles such Yann Demange’s ’71, Starred Up and Money Monster. He’ll next hit the big screen with Tulip Fever and The Man with the Iron Heart as well as starring in the Netflix TV series Godless. He was last seen on stage in The Nap at Sheffield Crucible Theater.

Miller’s repped by CAA in the U.S. and United Agents in the UK. O’Connell is repped by CAA in the U.S. and Conway van Gelder Grant in the UK.

Tom Holland, Katherine Waterston & Sienna Miller Join ‘The Current War’

Nov 6th, 2016       Posted by: admin       Filed in: News ,The Current War       Comments: 0

“The Current War” just keeps adding to its already impressive cast. “Spider-Man: Homecoming” star Tom Holland, Katherine Waterston from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and Sienna Miller (recently in “Foxcatcher” and “High-Rise” among others, and starring with Holland in James Gray’s “The Lost City Of Z“) are set to join Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon in the upcoming film.

The Weinstein Company’s “The Current War” tells the story of the bitter rivalry between George Westinghouse (Shannon) and Thomas Edison (Cumberbatch) as they fight to see who is going to bring a sustainable electricity system to the United States. Other than the previously mentioned cast, the film also stars Nicolas Hoult as Nikola Tesla, with “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon helming the film.

“The Current War” is not the only Westinghouse/Edison film currently in development. “The Last Days of Night” is being developed now with Eddie Redmayne set to star, and Morten Tyldum set to direct. However, TWC will likely be getting the jump with “The Current War,” as cameras will roll in December.

Domhnall Gleeson and Sienna Miller Star in The Tale of Thomas Burberry

Nov 1st, 2016       Posted by: admin       Filed in: News ,Videos       Comments: 0

The campaign film tells the story of Thomas Burberry

Burberry has once again enlisted a star cast for its latest Christmas campaign.

Sienna Miller, Dominic West, Lily James and Domhnall Gleeson together tell the brand’s backstory and values in a three-minute film directed by Asif Kapadia. Gleeson plays The label’s founder Thomas Burberry, while Miller assumes the role of his fictional first love.

West is seen as polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, who wore Burberry on three expeditions, and James takes on the part of pilot Betty Dawson, who is inspired by the real life achievements of Betty Kirby- Green, who broke the world record in 1937 for a return flight from England to Cape Town in an aeroplane named ‘The Burberry’.

“This Christmas, as we celebrate our 160th anniversary we wanted to tell the story of Thomas Burberry – pioneer, inventor, innovator, and the man behind the iconic trench coat – in our own words,” said Burberry chief creative and chief executive officer Christopher Bailey in a statement.

“The film we have made is a brief glimpse inspired by his full and extraordinary life, which threaded its way through the history of the twentieth century in all its tumultuous highs and lows.”
